The journey is the destination.

Something happens when we make the decision to study yoga in an enriched way. I am always excited each time I step into a teacher training program- because I know that beyond teaching yoga, this is an amazing journey that will inevitably change our lives. We embark on this adventure together- to learn the deeper aspects of the practice, to courageously step into the role of the teacher, and to enrich self-understanding through embodiment. What an incredible honor it is for me to share the gift of yoga, to contribute to the ancient lineage and growing community of yoga teachers.

I discovered Yoga Works when I moved to Los Angeles in 2003. I have always been comfortable speaking in the language of movement, having been a dancer my entire life. I had already been teaching yoga for a few years, with two teacher trainings under my belt.. yet, I was surprised to see how the Yoga Works method completely revitalized the way I understood yoga.

My first Yoga Works teacher training was with Lisa Walford and Malachi Melville in 2004. It challenged me, and my body became more balanced, centered and strong. When I began applying the method to my teaching, I witnessed my students’ bodies “wake up.” I could see their postures become more vibrant and alive.

The integrated and expansive nature of the Yoga Works method gives me an effective structure in which to teach asana safely, to explore my own creative voice and to offer a healing practice of self- inquiry. As my practice matures and evolves, I continue to appreciate the Yoga Works Teacher Training- which has been refined for over 20 years, taught throughout the world, and led by some of the world’s most respected teachers. It has given me the tools for unlimited possibilities of teaching through this natural, intelligent and interdisciplinary approach. And it continues to be the most comprehensive, methodical and well-balanced training to support the development of a good yoga teacher.

In order to become a good teacher, we first learn how to be a good student.
